U.S. President Donald Trump made further comments about the “concept of a deal” that he says he has reached with NATO regarding Greenland.
He stated that negotiations are still ongoing but “are quite advanced,” adding that the agreement “gives us everything we needed,” particularly in terms of “national and international security.”
Trump reiterated that it would be a “permanent deal,” but did not clarify whether ownership was part of the discussions.
“It is the ultimate long-term deal,” he said. “And I think it puts everyone in a really good position, especially regarding security, minerals, and everything else.”
