U.S. President Donald Trump is monitoring the unfolding crisis from the White House Situation Room, after Iran launched a missile attack targeting the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar — a key American military hub in the region.

This development follows just two days after the U.S. conducted its “Midnight Hammer” operation, striking three major Iranian nuclear enrichment facilities.

According to Western diplomats, a credible threat from Iran was issued hours before loud explosions were heard in the Qatari capital, Doha, causing panic across the city. Witnesses confirmed the blasts shortly after the warning was issued.

In a statement from Iran’s Armed Forces, the attack was described as part of “Operation Besharat Fatah”, and framed as a direct retaliation to what Tehran labeled “U.S. aggression.” The statement read: “The Islamic Republic of Iran will not tolerate attacks on its sovereignty and national security without a strong response.”

Qatari authorities later confirmed there were no casualties, but condemned the Iranian strike as a “clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law.” In response, Qatar closed its airspace, prompting flight diversions from one of the busiest hubs in the world — Hamad International Airport in Doha.

The U.S. Embassy in Qatar has issued a shelter-in-place advisory to all American citizens amid fears of further escalation.
