U.S. President Donald Trump has once again brought up the issue of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, asserting that his intervention during his first presidential term prevented a potential war between the two countries.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump emphasized that for his engagement in this and several other international issues, he should have been awarded the Nobel Prize.
“They should have given me the Nobel Prize for Rwanda, and have you seen the case of Congo? You could say Serbia and Kosovo. You could say many of them. The biggest one is India and Pakistan. I should have received it four or five times,” he stated when asked if he could win the Nobel Prize if he managed to resolve the Israel-Iran crisis.
Trump Pledges Renewed Engagement in Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue
On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump also warned of a renewed commitment to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, accusing current U.S. President Joe Biden of harming the progress made earlier.
“During my first term, Serbia and Kosovo were clashing forcefully, as they have for many decades, and this prolonged conflict was about to erupt into WAR. I stopped it (Biden has damaged long-term prospects with some very foolish decisions, but I will fix it again!),” Trump wrote.
