U.S. President Donald Trump stated Monday that he seeks a “real end” to the nuclear issue with Iran, stressing that the Islamic Republic must “completely abandon” nuclear weapons, according to comments shared by a CBS News journalist on the platform X, as reported by The Guardian.

Trump made the remarks while departing Canada at midnight, following the G7 summit of the world’s seven leading industrialized nations.

He emphasized that Israel will not slow down its strikes against Iran.

“You’ll understand in the next two days. You’ll see. No one has slowed down so far,”
said the U.S. President.

Trump added that he may send either his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, or Vice President JD Vance to meet with Iranian representatives.

When asked whether U.S. involvement would eliminate Iran’s nuclear program, Trump responded:

“I hope their program is gone long before that happens.”
