U.S. President Donald Trump clarified that the decision to strike Hamas leaders in Doha “was made by Prime Minister Netanyahu, it was not my decision.”

The American president stated that bombing a “Sovereign State and Close Ally” of the U.S., “which is working hard and bravely, taking risks alongside us to mediate peace, does not advance the goals of Israel or America.”

However, he added that eliminating Hamas, which has profited from the suffering of the people living in Gaza, is “a worthy objective,” BBC reports, cited by Sinjali.

Upon receiving news of the Israeli strike, Trump said that he “immediately ordered” U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff “to inform the Qataris about the imminent attack” – but noted that it was “too late to stop the strike.”
