The White House has stated that the world has never been closer to peace, ahead of a scheduled phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“President Trump is determined,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Trump confirmed that he will speak with Putin on Tuesday, with discussions focusing on territorial issues and power plants in Ukraine.
“We are already in talks on this matter, particularly regarding the division of certain assets,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while traveling from Florida to Washington.
He added, “We will see if we have something to announce on Tuesday. A lot of work has been done over the weekend. We want to see if we can bring an end to this war.”
The upcoming conversation marks a significant diplomatic moment as speculation grows over potential agreements between the two leaders on Ukraine’s territorial disputes and infrastructure.
