Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy strongly reacted after U.S. President Donald Trump announced he would hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

In a public statement, Zelenskyy reiterated his country’s firm stance: “Ukraine will not give land to the invader.”
He emphasized that any agreement made without Kyiv’s involvement is unacceptable and destined to fail.

“Certainly, we will not reward Russia for what it has done. The Ukrainian people deserve peace,” he declared.
“The answer to the Ukrainian territorial issue is already in the Constitution of Ukraine. No one will deviate from this—and no one will be able to. Ukrainians will not forgive giving up their land to the invader.”

Zelenskyy expressed openness to genuine peace negotiations, but only if they include Ukraine and respect its sovereignty.

“Ukraine is ready for real decisions that can bring peace. But any decision made against us, any decision without Ukraine, is simultaneously a decision against peace. These are dead decisions that will bring nothing.”

This statement comes at a delicate diplomatic moment, as the much-anticipated Trump–Putin meeting is expected to draw international attention. However, Ukraine’s exclusion from the negotiation table raises serious concerns about the sustainability and legitimacy of any potential agreement.
