U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope that Russia would accept a ceasefire plan developed by American and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Trump revealed that he plans to invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky back to the White House. He expressed optimism that the proposed ceasefire would materialize “in the coming days,” adding, “I know we have a big meeting with Russia tomorrow, and we hope to have some great discussions.”
Trump also confirmed that he would be speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week about the proposed ceasefire, emphasizing that “it takes two to tango,” as the saying goes.
