During a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, U.S. President Donald Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he is prepared to lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of U.S. long-range weapons to strike targets inside Russian territory, including Tomahawk missiles.

The news was confirmed to the Wall Street Journal by a senior U.S. official. Zelensky requested additional long-range missiles and approval to use them against Russian territory. Trump responded that he is not opposed to the idea but did not give a concrete commitment to implement it.

Experts note that Ukraine’s military needs remain consistent with previous months—air defense systems, interceptors, missile systems, and artillery.

Meanwhile, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko reaffirmed his ambitions as an international mediator, proposing an unprecedented tripartite dialogue between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States, accompanied by new energy and diplomatic offers.

After a meeting in Moscow with Vladimir Putin lasting over five hours, Lukashenko stated that the Russian president had drafted a proposal to end the ongoing war. He added that the plan had already been communicated to President Trump, whom Putin met in Alaska in mid-August. While Lukashenko did not reveal specific details, he claimed that the plan enjoys broad support within U.S. circles, highlighting his role as a mediator between the two powers.
