U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly entered the White House Situation Room on an emergency basis, joined by top Defense and Intelligence officials, as well as members of his cabinet.
This urgent move comes in the wake of Iranian missile strikes targeting U.S. military bases in the Middle East—most notably the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a key strategic hub for U.S. operations in the region.
Iran is said to have launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at Al Udeid, with explosions so powerful they were reportedly heard in the capital city, Doha. At least six missiles are believed to have been fired, and initial assessments suggest the potential for significant damage.
According to Fox News, the attack was considered “unavoidable” and sources indicate the base had been evacuated in anticipation of the strike.
Earlier in the evening, Qatar announced it was closing its airspace as part of precautionary measures following Iranian threats of retaliation against the United States.
Separate reports also indicate that Iran has launched at least one ballistic missile targeting a U.S. base in Iraq.
The situation is rapidly evolving and tensions remain extremely high.
