U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Monday that India has offered to reduce its tariffs on American goods to zero.

Calling the U.S.-India relationship “one-sided,” Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social: “They have now offered to lower their tariffs to zero, but it’s too late. They should have done this years ago.”

The Indian Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to Trump’s comments, which come after the implementation of tariffs up to 50% on Indian goods—raising questions about the future of U.S.-India relations.

Trump’s remarks coincide with Prime Minister Modi’s visit to China for a summit of more than 20 non-Western leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, an initiative backed by China.
