US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he believed the United States could “reach a deal” regarding Cuba.
His comments came a few days after he threatened tariffs on any country supplying Cuba with oil.
Trump reiterated his call for Cuba to negotiate with the United States, Reuters reports, as cited by Klankosova.tv.
“There’s no reason this should be a humanitarian crisis,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while en route to Florida.
“I think they would probably come to us and would want to make a deal… They have a very bad situation in Cuba. They have no money. They have no oil. They lived off Venezuela’s money and oil, and none of that is coming now.”
