President-elect Donald Trump vehemently criticized U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith during a speech at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday, accusing him of “weaponizing justice” under the Democrats and referring to him as “crazy.”
“I defeated Jack Smith. He’s crazy. I think he’s heading to The Hague. We won the court cases,” Trump asserted, according to CNN.
He further claimed, “And the press did a great job at pushing it. But we did nothing wrong. We haven’t done anything wrong at all.”
Judge Aileen Cannon recently blocked the release of Smith’s final report on his investigations into Trump. Her order prevents Smith and the Department of Justice from moving forward with the publication of the report while the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has time to review the urgent motion filed by Trump’s co-defendants to block the release.
Smith, who served as Chief Prosecutor of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in The Hague, was the one to raise the indictment against former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
