When asked by reporters whether he had discussed a ceasefire with Zelensky during a meeting prior to the NATO summit press conference, the U.S. President denied it.
Trump acknowledged there have been “difficult times” in U.S.–Ukraine relations but said that Zelensky “was very polite.”
He stated that thousands of people have died on both sides of the war, and he believes Zelensky wants the conflict with Russia to end.
The U.S. President also declared that he intends to speak with Putin to “see if we can end the war.”
