U.S. President Donald Trump reacted on Monday afternoon to developments in the Middle East with a post on Truth Social, warning that the United States could “end its patience with Iran” by destroying power plants, oil fields, and Kharg Island if a deal is not reached soon.

Trump emphasized that the United States is engaged in talks with what he described as a “new and more reasonable regime,” and underlined that any potential action would serve as retaliation for U.S. soldiers killed during the previous period of Iran’s leadership.

However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghai, stated that there has been no direct contact between Tehran and Washington, describing U.S. demands as “excessive” and “unrealistic.”

“What has been discussed are messages conveyed through intermediaries, according to which the U.S. seeks negotiations,” Baghai said, adding that Iran has consistently been clear about its position and considers the American demands unreasonable.

The situation highlights escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, increasing the risk of a direct confrontation in the region.
