U.S. President Donald Trump has promised to take action to address crime in Chicago, labeling the city as “the most dangerous in the world.”

Trump, posting on Truth Social, referred to his previous deployment of federal forces in Washington, stating: “I will solve the crime problem, just as I did in Washington.”

Following his interventions in Los Angeles in June and Washington, D.C. in mid-August, Trump is threatening to send federal agents and military personnel to other Democrat-led cities, including Chicago, New York, Baltimore, and Boston.

He emphasized Chicago’s situation in capital letters: “CHICAGO IS THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD.”

Democratic Governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker, accused Trump, whom he described as a “dictator,” of attempting to use the military to influence the November 2026 midterm elections.

Similarly, Maryland Governor Wes Moore criticized Trump for creating artificial crises to justify deploying federal troops in Democratic states. Trump responded, claiming Pritzker “urgently needs help” and added, “He just doesn’t know it yet.”
