U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Americans “not to worry about China,” assuring that relations between Washington and Beijing will remain stable despite renewed trade tensions.

Don’t worry about China, everything will be fine! The very respected President Xi just had a bad moment. He doesn’t want a depression for his country, and neither do I. The United States wants to help China, not hurt it,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

His remarks come only days after the resumption of the U.S. trade offensive against Beijing. On Friday, Trump announced an additional 100% tariff on Chinese goods—on top of those already in place—warning that the new measures would take effect by November 1 or earlier.

The move came in response to China’s restrictions on rare earth minerals, critical to the U.S. technology and defense industries. “China has taken an unprecedented step,” Trump said at the time.

Although U.S.–China trade relations had shown signs of stabilization earlier this year, tensions have reignited. In September, Trump described his phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping as “very productive,” even hinting at possible reciprocal state visits in 2026.

However, Beijing announced on Friday that it would impose “special tariffs” on U.S. ships entering Chinese ports, in retaliation for similar measures introduced by Washington in April.

Meanwhile, U.S. authorities revealed they had removed millions of banned Chinese products from e-commerce platforms, escalating the trade confrontation between the world’s two largest economies.
