U.S. President Donald Trump stated that his administration is considering the possibility of a “peaceful takeover” of Cuba, without providing concrete details on what such a move would entail.

Speaking to reporters while leaving the White House for a trip to Texas, Trump noted that the Cuban government is holding talks with Washington and faces significant economic challenges.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that Cuba must implement fundamental changes, after the U.S. eased certain oil export restrictions to the island for humanitarian reasons.
