Donald Trump, President of the United States, stated today that the U.S. military is actively studying the use of drones during military operations in Ukraine, describing it as a rapidly evolving and alarming shift in modern warfare.
“Believe it or not, you’re entering a profession where warfare is changing fast,” Trump told graduating cadets at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York, according to TASS.
Referring to the war in Ukraine, Trump said the U.S. is carefully examining battlefield developments involving high-speed, precision drone attacks, emphasizing that such tactics represent a new chapter in modern military strategy.
“It’s a terrifying reality to study, but one we must learn from. We’re seeing drones descend at angles and speeds we’ve never witnessed before,” Trump said.
The President reaffirmed his view that the primary mission of the U.S. military is national defense, not spreading democracy through force.
“We are restoring the core principle that our armed forces exist to defend our borders from invasion — not to reshape other cultures or impose democracy at gunpoint,” he stated.
He concluded by stressing that the role of the U.S. military is to overpower any enemy and eliminate threats to America — anywhere, at any time.
