U.S. President Donald Trump has once again turned attention to Greenland, describing the territory as a strategic issue for national security.
When asked how much money he would offer Denmark for the island, Trump said that he was “not talking about money yet, but could talk about it.”
Instead, he issued a strong warning, Sky News reports.
“For now, we are going to do something about Greenland, even if they don’t want it, because if we don’t, Russia or China will take Greenland, and we will not have Russia or China as neighbors. I would prefer to make a deal the easy way. But if we don’t do it that way, we will do it the hard way,” the U.S. president said.
