The Ministry of Defense reported that the UH-1 helicopter crashed in Isparta province. The injured soldier was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, according to Anadolu Agency (AA).

“In Keçiborlu, there is a Ground Aviation School where regular training flights are conducted. As a result of contact between two helicopters during the exercise, one of them crashed,” explained Governor Abdullah Erin.

Local media report that investigations into the incident are ongoing. One of the deceased is believed to have been the commander of the Isparta Ground Aviation School, Isa Baydilli.

“Our UH-1 helicopter, which was conducting a training flight in Isparta, was destroyed in an accident, and six of our personnel fell as martyrs. The personnel, who were sent to the hospital with severe injuries from the accident, could not be saved,” said the Ministry of Defense.

“May our martyrs rest in the mercy of God. We offer condolences to their families, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured soldier,” it added.
