Turkey’s First Lady, Emine Erdogan, has sent a letter to Melania Trump, the wife of U.S. President Donald Trump, urging her to show greater sensitivity toward the situation in Gaza.

In her letter, Emine Erdogan stated that she was inspired by a previous letter Melania had sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin concerning children in Ukraine and Russia.

“I trust that the important compassion you have shown for 648 Ukrainian children… will also extend to Gaza,” she wrote.

Erdogan emphasized that at a time when recognition of Palestine has become a global consensus, Melania Trump’s call for assistance on behalf of Gaza would represent a historic responsibility toward the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, Gaza and surrounding areas continue to face severe hunger, increasing pressure on Israel to allow more humanitarian aid.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has categorically denied the existence of famine, calling it “pure falsehood,” and stressed that Israel follows a policy of prevention, not causing hunger.
