The Ministry of National Defense has announced that a ballistic missile launched from Iran crossed the airspace of Iraq and Syria before heading toward Turkish territory.
In an official statement, Turkish authorities clarified that the missile was intercepted and neutralized mid-air by NATO air and missile defense systems before it could enter Turkey’s airspace.
According to the same sources, debris that fell in the Dortyol area of Hatay Province has been identified as part of the munition used by the air defense system to intercept the aerial target.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties or injuries have been reported. The situation continues to be closely monitored by the relevant security institutions.
