The Turkish Liaison Monitoring Team (LMT), part of NATO-led KFOR’s Regional Command-West, continues to play a vital role in maintaining stability and fostering cooperation across Kosovo, Rks News reports.
Operating closely with local communities, the Turkish LMT engages impartially with all ethnic groups, helping to build trust and ensure a safe environment. KFOR’s latest report highlights:
“Their continued presence on the ground contributes to a safe and stable environment.”
KFOR’s mission is based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which mandates:
“We contribute to a safe and secure environment and ensure freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo at all times.”
The KFOR forces, including the Turkish LMT, also work closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX), acting as part of a coordinated security response.
“Our close cooperation with local partners is key to the success of our mission,” the statement emphasized.
