The Turkish Parliament on Wednesday adopted a motion condemning Israel’s airstrikes in Syria, labeling them “evil” and reaffirming strong support for the Syrian people.

The approved resolution states that Ankara “strongly condemns Israel’s evil attacks against Syria, especially those targeting Damascus,” adding that “Turkey stands with the Syrian people in these difficult moments.”

Details of the Israeli Strikes

On Wednesday, Israeli airstrikes in Damascus reportedly hit the Ministry of Defense and areas close to the presidential palace. According to Syrian media, powerful explosions were heard in the capital, with reports of significant material damage.

Israel has also extended its strikes to the southern province of Suwayda, where the Israeli army warned that operations would continue if Syrian forces did not withdraw from the area. The Syrian army had deployed troops to the province to restore order following fierce clashes between armed Druze and Bedouin groups, which left at least 30 people dead.

The Israeli army, for its part, has claimed its intervention is aimed at protecting the Druze minority in the region. However, the situation remains highly tense, with a significant risk of further escalation of the conflict.
