The Kosovo Police, through the Directorate for International Police Cooperation, in coordination with other relevant police units and judicial institutions, has successfully carried out the transfer of a convicted person and the extradition of a suspect from the Czech Republic and Germany to Kosovo.
According to the official statement, on 1 January 2026, a Kosovo citizen convicted in the Czech Republic for the criminal offense of attempted murder was transferred to Kosovo. Following the transfer, the individual was handed over to the Kosovo Correctional Service to serve the remaining part of his sentence, having already served part of it in the Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, on 14 January 2026, another Kosovo citizen was extradited from Germany after being sought under an international arrest warrant issued by Kosovo’s judicial authorities. The suspect is wanted for involvement in several criminal offenses, including illegal possession and control of weapons, bodily harm, and threats.
The extradition was carried out thanks to close cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the German authorities. After extradition, the suspect was handed over to the relevant police units for the continuation of legal procedures.
In its statement, the Kosovo Police emphasized that the Directorate for International Police Cooperation will continue to exchange information with domestic institutions, foreign states, and international organizations in order to prevent, investigate, and uncover criminal activities, as well as to track, locate, arrest, and dismantle criminal individuals and groups operating both inside and outside Kosovo.
