A perpetrator killed two people with a knife at a shopping center in the Czech city of Hradec Králové on Thursday, police said, adding that they had arrested the suspected attacker immediately after the incident.
Czech television reported that the suspect was a 16-year-old Czech national.
“Although we were on the scene within minutes of the report, both victims suffered such severe injuries that they could not be saved despite the responders’ efforts,” the police said in a post on X, according to Reuters.
