Two American warships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz and are now operating in the Persian Gulf, according to the United States Central Command.
U.S. authorities stated that their mission is aimed at creating conditions for clearing naval mines in this strategically vital area.
The move comes after earlier warnings from Iran about a potential response to the presence of U.S. vessels, raising concerns over a possible escalation of tensions in one of the world’s most critical maritime routes for global oil trade.
