Today marks two years since the violent clash that occurred in the municipality of Zvecan between Serbian protesters and KFOR soldiers.
The protest by the Serbs erupted when the newly elected Albanian mayors from elections in the north attempted to enter the respective municipal buildings.
A similar situation unfolded simultaneously in the other northern municipalities of Leposavic and Zubin Potok.
As a result of the clash in Zvecan, 93 KFOR soldiers were injured, some seriously. One of them, from the Hungarian contingent, had a leg amputated.
Kosovo authorities, meanwhile, have arrested several individuals in connection with the violence that occurred two years ago.
The most recent arrest related to these events was of a man with the initials M.A., from Žitkovac in Zvečan. He was apprehended on April 15 of this year.
