The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee has approved a $500 million military aid package for Ukraine.
According to Reuters, this aid is part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), an annual legislation that determines funding levels and authorities for the U.S. military.
The bill includes a provision extending the “Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative” through 2028, increasing its funding from $300 million to $500 million just for this year.
This initiative aims to strengthen Ukraine’s defensive capabilities in its ongoing war against Russia, which invaded the country in 2022.
