The United States has announced new sanctions against more than 30 individuals, entities, and vessels linked to Iran, intensifying pressure on Tehran over its oil trade and military programs.

According to the United States Department of the Treasury, the measures were imposed by its sanctions arm, the Office of Foreign Assets Control, which accused the targeted networks of enabling illegal Iranian oil sales, as well as supporting ballistic missile and weapons production.

Officials said the sanctions also target supply chains that help Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics obtain materials and machinery required for advanced weapons manufacturing.

The latest move is part of a broader campaign launched by U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at weakening Iran’s economy and limiting its military capabilities. Washington has also increased its military presence in the Middle East and warned that a potential strike remains possible if Tehran fails to reach an agreement on its nuclear program.

Reports indicate that the U.S. administration recently gave Iran a 10–15 day window to respond to diplomatic proposals related to the nuclear issue.

In response, Iran has warned it could target U.S. bases in the region if attacked, highlighting the rising tensions between the two sides.

Despite the escalating rhetoric and exchange of threats in recent weeks, diplomatic channels remain open. A third round of talks is expected to take place in Geneva, involving U.S. representatives Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, alongside Iran’s foreign minister, as efforts continue to avoid a direct military confrontation.
