Following a massive overnight airstrike by Russia on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, which claimed at least 12 lives and left dozens injured, the United States has issued a strong condemnation.

Keith Kellogg, special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump for Ukraine, denounced the Russian bombardments in a social media post, calling them a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

“The indiscriminate killing of women and children in their homes during the night is a clear breach of the 1977 Geneva Peace Protocols, established to protect innocent civilians,” Kellogg wrote.

He described the attack as “shameful” and urgently called for an immediate end to the violence.
