Football club Crvena Zvezda has been fined by UEFA for several violations during last week’s Braga – Crvena Zvezda Europa League match.
According to UEFA’s Control, Ethics, and Disciplinary Body, the Serbian club was penalized for racist and discriminatory behavior by spectators in Portugal, as well as for broadcasting messages deemed inappropriate for a sporting event. A video showed the fan group “Delije” chanting anti-Kosovo slogans, including “Kosovo, Serbia.”
As a result, Crvena Zvezda was fined €62,500 and will play their next two away matches against Sturm Graz and Malmö behind closed doors.
UEFA also sanctioned Shkëndija of North Macedonia for displaying banners inconsistent with the spirit of the game during their Shkëndija – Shelbourne Conference League match in Skopje.
