UEFA has fined Polish football club Lech Poznań for multiple violations during their Champions League qualifying match against Crvena Zvezda.
Among the sanctions, the club received a €10,000 fine for displaying a large banner reading “Kosovo is Serbia” during the third qualifying round first leg.
The European football governing body deemed the banner a violation of its rules on political messages and discriminatory content in stadiums. UEFA has a strict policy prohibiting political statements in football venues, aiming to ensure the sport remains free from political tension and incitement.
Lech Poznań has not yet issued an official statement regarding the fine.
