British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, has welcomed Syria’s recognition of Kosovo, calling it an important step for Kosovo’s international standing.
The ambassador emphasized that the United Kingdom has supported Kosovo since day one and continues to encourage all countries to join the growing consensus in support of its independence.
“I welcome Syria’s recognition of Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state. This is an important step forward for Kosovo’s international position and its Euro-Atlantic path. The United Kingdom has proudly stood by Kosovo from the very beginning and continues to encourage all nations to join the growing consensus supporting its independence, democracy, and multi-ethnic future. This recognition is significant – it strengthens peace, stability, and cooperation across the Western Balkans,” Hargreaves wrote.
