British Ambassador to Kosovo Jonathan Hargreaves praised the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) on Monday during a visit to the Defender Europe 25 military exercise, calling it a strong example of strategic cooperation with the U.S. and NATO partners.
Hosted by Kosovo, the Defender Europe 25 drill is the largest annual U.S. Army-led exercise in Europe and involves troops from multiple allied nations.
“Today I visited the DEFENDER EUROPE 25 exercise, the U.S. Army’s largest annual drill,” Hargreaves said. “It demonstrated the Kosovo Security Force’s ability to operate jointly with forces from the United States 🇺🇸, Albania 🇦🇱, Croatia 🇭🇷, North Macedonia 🇲🇰, and Bulgaria 🇧🇬, highlighting NATO-level interoperability.”
The ambassador emphasized the strategic deployment capabilities of the FSK and its increasing alignment with NATO standards.
During the visit, Hargreaves also met with the 30th FSK graduate from the UK’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, now serving in Kosovo. He noted the officer’s progress and how the skills acquired in the UK are actively being applied to strengthen Kosovo’s defense posture.
“It was a pleasure to meet Kosovo’s 30th Sandhurst alumna. We discussed what she learned in the UK and how she is using that knowledge to drive change within the FSK as it develops into a modern, NATO-compatible security force,” Hargreaves wrote on social media.
The Defender Europe 25 exercise is seen as a critical demonstration of collective readiness and a deterrent against regional instability amid heightened security concerns in Europe.
