Yvette Cooper, the UK Foreign Secretary, stated at the UN Security Council in New York that British and NATO forces are prepared to confront Russian aircraft over Europe if required.

During her remarks, Cooper emphasized the readiness of allied forces to ensure European airspace security amid ongoing tensions.

A White House official added that former President Donald Trump believes such actions “do nothing to free hostages in Gaza” and may only reward Hamas, highlighting concerns that military measures should prioritize conflict resolution.

“This does not advance the primary goal of freeing hostages or ending the conflict in Gaza,” the official noted.
