UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, David Lammy, continued his diplomatic engagements in Kosovo by meeting with leaders of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

Unlike his earlier meetings with PDK Chairman Memli Krasniqi and AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj, Lammy was received by LDK’s Vice President Doarsa Kica-Xhelili, accompanied by senior party members Muhamet Hamiti and Alush Gashi.

UK’s Support for Kosovo’s Democratic Development

During the discussions, the LDK leadership and Lammy exchanged views on Kosovo’s political landscape and the party’s stance on current affairs. LDK reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Kosovo’s institutions and democratic processes.

UK’s Continued Role in the Western Balkans

LDK welcomed the appointment of Karen Pierce as the UK’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, emphasizing the importance of Britain’s sustained support in Kosovo’s state-building efforts.

“The Democratic League of Kosovo values and appreciates the UK’s unwavering support in our journey toward Euro-Atlantic integration and strengthening democracy,” stated LDK in an official statement.

Notably, LDK did not provide an explanation for the absence of its party leader, Lumir Abdixhiku, from the meeting with Lammy.
