The leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany held discussions this morning following Israel’s strike on Iran, reaffirming Israel’s right to self-defense while calling for a diplomatic resolution to the escalating tensions.
The office of the British Prime Minister stated that the leaders discussed “long-standing and serious concerns about Iran’s nuclear program” and urged “all parties to refrain from further escalation that could further destabilize the region.”
“The leaders reaffirmed Israel’s right to self-defense and agreed that a diplomatic solution, not military action, is the way forward,” the statement read, as reported by CNN.
The Israeli strikes in the early hours of Friday reportedly resulted in the deaths of three senior Iranian military figures.
