The United Kingdom has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia, banning 70 vessels transporting Russian oil and sanctioning 30 companies and individuals linked to supplying the Russian military, including entities in China and Turkey.

This move comes following the intensification of Russian missile and drone attacks in Ukraine, as well as the recent incident of Russian airspace violation over Poland, a NATO member.

“International actions to increase economic pressure on Russia and to block the flow of funds it needs to finance this illegal war are essential,” said British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper from Kyiv, according to Reuters.

“These sanctions are the next step in the UK’s leading efforts to increase economic pressure alongside our support for security,” she added.
