UK Special Envoy Expresses Concern to Kurti Over Kosovo-Serbia Tensions

The UK’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Karen Pierce, has spoken with Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti to discuss recent tensions between Kosovo and Serbia.

Call for EU-Facilitated Dialogue

According to an announcement from the British Embassy in Kosovo, Pierce raised her concern about the current situation and stressed the importance of resolving outstanding issues through EU-facilitated dialogue.

“Karen Pierce, the UK’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, spoke today with acting Prime Minister Kurti to discuss her concerns about recent tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, and the need to resolve outstanding issues through EU-facilitated dialogue,” the statement read.

Pierce also noted that she looks forward to meeting with Kosovo representatives at the upcoming Berlin Process meetings, which will be held in London in October. In the coming days, the British diplomat is also scheduled to hold talks with the president of Serbia.
