The UK Foreign Office has summoned the Russian ambassador in London following Russia’s latest strikes on Kyiv, Foreign Secretary David Lammy confirmed on Thursday.

In a statement posted on social media, Lammy said Moscow’s attacks “killed civilians, destroyed homes, and damaged buildings, including the British Council and the EU Delegation in Kyiv.”

“We have summoned the Russian ambassador. The killings and destruction must stop,” he declared.

The European Commission also announced it will summon Russia’s envoy to the EU after the EU delegation building in Kyiv was damaged.

At least 17 people were killed in what officials described as the largest wave of strikes on Kyiv since July.
