The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, has praised the recent agreement between Kosovo and the European Union regarding the implementation of the Law on Foreigners.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti had previously announced that, for a transitional period, documents issued by illegal Serbian structures would be temporarily recognized.
Ambassador Hargreaves welcomed the agreement, congratulating Prime Minister Kurti for his efforts:
“The United Kingdom welcomes the agreement reached between Kosovo and the EU on implementing the Law on Foreigners. The agreement respects Kosovo’s legal framework, providing a practical solution for all communities to live, work, and study legally in Kosovo without interruption of services.”
He added:
“We welcome Prime Minister Kurti’s commitment to implementing the law and future plans affecting the Serbian community in Kosovo, in close coordination with the EU and the community.”
The agreement represents a pragmatic compromise aimed at ensuring legal certainty and access to services for all residents while maintaining Kosovo’s sovereignty and legal order.
