Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to Germany to participate in the Munich Security Conference, where a significant milestone in defense cooperation between Ukraine and Germany was officially presented. During the event, Zelensky received the first military drone jointly produced by the two countries, marking a major step in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and expanding European military-industrial cooperation.

The Ukrainian president highlighted that Kyiv has long been working to establish joint defense production lines across Europe, emphasizing that the newly operational production line in Germany represents a tangible achievement in strategic military collaboration. According to Zelensky, this partnership aims to enhance Ukraine’s ability to sustain defense operations while deepening cooperation with European allies.

The drone unveiling took place ahead of Zelensky’s potential meeting with Marco Rubio, reflecting ongoing diplomatic and military coordination between Ukraine, Europe, and the United States.

Meanwhile, Mark Rutte, speaking on the sidelines of the conference, addressed the current battlefield situation involving Russia and Ukraine. Rutte stated that Russia’s military advances remain slow and costly, noting that Russian forces continue to suffer significant losses despite gradual territorial progress.

Rutte also stressed the long-term strategic vision of the NATO, indicating that the alliance is expected to become increasingly European-led, while maintaining strong and essential involvement from the United States. He emphasized that maintaining transatlantic unity remains critical to regional and global security stability.

The joint drone initiative signals growing defense integration between Ukraine and European partners, as the war continues to reshape security cooperation and military production strategies across the continent.
