A Ukrainian military spokesperson has categorically denied claims by Russian authorities that Ukrainian forces killed civilians during an attack in the Kherson region.

The accusations were made by Vladimir Saldo, the Russia-installed governor of the region, who alleged that Ukraine carried out a large-scale drone strike targeting civilians.

According to Saldo, seven people were killed in the incident.

However, the Ukrainian side offered a different account. Kyiv’s military spokesperson confirmed that an attack had taken place in the area but stated that it specifically targeted military objectives — not civilians.

“The only individuals killed in the strike were Russian military personnel,” the spokesperson added.

The incident comes amid ongoing tensions in the Russian-occupied territories of southern Ukraine.
