Ukrainian forces have successfully destroyed a Russian Tor-M2 short-range air defense system in southern Ukraine, through a coordinated operation involving intelligence and drone operators, reports Rks News.
According to the Ukrainian military, the statement read: “Another enemy Tor-M2 system was destroyed in the south. Thanks to the coordinated actions of intelligence and drone operators, the occupying forces have suffered significant losses.”
Footage released shows drones continuously dropping explosive devices on the Russian missile system, which is engulfed in flames after multiple hits. Russian troops in the vicinity were seen fleeing rapidly, although their fate remains unknown.
The Tor-M2, valued at around $25 million, is designed to target low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and drones. Its destruction marks another heavy blow to the Russian military’s defense capabilities in the region.
