A coordinated strike involving a dozen Ukrainian drones targeted the Russian air base in Ryazan and an oil depot in Saratov, which supplies fuel to the fleet of strategic bombers stationed at the Engels-2 base. The attack occurred on Friday morning and caused major fires at the refinery that supports Russia’s strategic aircraft, Rks News reports.

The Ukrainian military headquarters confirmed the attack, announcing that explosions and flames engulfed three fuel storage tanks. Engels-2 base, near Saratov, is a key Russian military hub that houses Tu-22 bombers and Su-34 fighter jets.

In Ryazan, the Diaghilev air base was also struck, where transport aircraft and equipment supporting missile strikes are stationed. Russian air defenses claimed to have shot down the drones and reported no casualties.

The attack also included a high-tech factory in Tambov that produces components for Russian missile systems. This strike reflects a significant escalation in Ukraine’s ability to hit strategic targets deep within Russian territory.
