On the morning of October 3, Ukrainian air defense successfully shot down around 15 Russian drones over Kyiv, reported Serhiy Popko, head of the military administration of the Ukrainian capital.
Debris from the drones fell in one district of Kyiv, but according to Popko, there were no casualties or material damage.
The Russian attacks on Kyiv lasted at least five hours, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Separately, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that they also neutralized Russian drones in the regions of Chernihiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy, and Vinnytsia.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that 113 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight over the regions of Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, and Bryansk.
According to the Russian Ministry, the largest number of drones—73—were shot down over the Belgorod region.
Russia began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Recently, Ukraine has also intensified its drone attacks on Russian border regions.
