Kyiv, July 22, 2025 — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that the next round of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia will take place this Wednesday in Turkey.

The announcement was made during Zelensky’s nightly address, where he stated that he had discussed preparations for the meeting with Ukraine’s National Security Council Secretary, Rustem Umerov. According to Zelensky, Umerov confirmed that the meeting is scheduled to be held midweek.

“I spoke with Rustem Umerov about preparing a new meeting with the Russian side in Turkey. Umerov said the meeting is planned for Wednesday,” Zelensky said, noting that he will share further details later today.

This marks the third round of dialogue between the two nations to be hosted in Istanbul, following two previous meetings that ended without significant breakthroughs toward ending the ongoing war.

Rustem Umerov, who led Ukraine’s delegation in the earlier negotiations, is expected to head the team once again in the upcoming talks.

The international community is closely watching the developments, hoping for progress in de-escalating a conflict that continues to have far-reaching humanitarian and geopolitical consequences.
