The United Nations Office for Human Rights has stated that the Israeli army “continues to kill civilians” around repositioning lines in Gaza.

At least 15 Palestinians have reportedly been shot and killed in areas near Israeli forces in Gaza.

The Israeli army still controls approximately 53% of Gaza after its forces returned to the initial withdrawal line.

Yesterday, the Israeli army stated that it opened fire on “several suspects,” while health authorities in Gaza reported that at least six Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in two separate incidents.

The IDF said it opened fire after suspects crossed the withdrawal line and approached forces in the northern Gaza Strip.

“It is essential to ensure that the ceasefire is maintained and progresses toward recovery and the full realization of the Palestinians’ right to self-determination,” said Ajith Sunghay, head of the UN office.

“It is equally essential to ensure that recovery efforts, including the restoration of public order and civilian life, comply with the protection of Palestinians’ human rights under international law.”
